Inviting people into a community of woodworkers

Cruz Chavez has been in the world of woodworking for over 25 years. Between the tools around his household garage and his own creative passions, crafting wood came naturally to him at a young age. Being a self-taught woodworker manifested multiple projects and artistic expression in Cruz’s life - but it wouldn’t stop there. Cruz’s passion for woodworking went beyond himself. In 2020, Cruz envisioned what is now Sawdust Studios - a space inviting people of all skill-level and diversity into a community of woodworkers and artistry.

Cruz’s favorite projects include anything involving natural wood featuring the wood itself. This can range from small kitchen essentials like cutting boards to future family heirlooms such as tables or other furniture.

Cruz, his wife, and their three kids have spent the last year developing their own skill within their family. “I want to be by my kid’s side every step of the way so they can be confidant in their accomplishments.” Together, the Chavez family has been building their house alongside this business and could not be more thankful for the opportunities ahead of them.
